NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) – Search teams are looking for a 12-year-old girl who was
swept away in Shoal Creek at the Lime Kiln Park in Neosho. Neosho Police Chief
Jason Baird said officers were called to the park Wednesday afternoon for a
water rescue. They pulled 34-year-old Trevor Hicks from the water. Hicks was
trying to rescue Kaylin Brown, who had been pulled into the water by a strong
current. Rescuers searched until about 9 p.m. Wednesday and resumed the search
Thursday morning. Baird said Hicks was unresponsive when he was rescued and
remains in critical condition.
