MH man jailed for allegedly attacking sleeper

A 33-year-old Mountain Home man is in jail after allegedly attacking a sleeping man.

Michael Curtis Clements was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on May 26 on charges of second-degree battery, a Class C felony, a criminal trespassing, a Class D felony.

Clements is accused of breaking into a house in Lakeview and attacking another man while he slept. Clements’ arrest warrant states that the man’s injuries required him to be taken to a hospital.

According to the affidavit, the man told law enforcement that Clements’ attack was unprovoked and he did not know what Clements did it. The man’s mother spoke with law enforcement the following day and said that Clements came to her house and allegedly told her and the man’s wife that he attacked the man to teach him a lesson.

Curtis is being held in the Baxter County Jail. His bond is set at $15,000.
