
Day one of the 35th annual Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic American Legion baseball tournament in Mountain Home Thursday saw the host team get a win. The Lockeroom exploded for eight runs in the first inning and went on to beat Eureka, Mo. 8-4.
Tyler Guffey drove in three runs for Mountain Home and Brett Manes struck out five in just two innings of work on the mound.
The Lockeroom improves to 9-3 on the season.
In other games, North Central Arkansas scored seven runs in the seventh inning to top Branson 10-6, Russellville was an 8-2 winner over Batesville, Paragould squeezed past Bartlesville, Ok. 7-6 and Pontotoc, Ms. beat up on Tropics out of Scott City, Mo. 17-5.
