Area woman injured in 1-vehicle accident, faces felony drug charge

An area woman was seriously injured Friday evening in a one-vehicle accident in southern Missouri. Twenty-seven-year-old Destiny Lynn of Harrison, who was transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, is also facing a felony drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lynn was traveling on Missouri Highway 86 in Taney County. She was nearly four miles west of Ridgedale when her vehicle ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, traveled airborne and struck a telephone pole and a stone flower bed.

Lynn was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance (alprazolam), careless and imprudent driving and no seat belt. Her vehicle was totaled in the 8:12 p.m. accident.
