Dr. Jake Long, Superintendent of Mountain Home Public Schools, will host a “Walk-In Wednesday” event Wedenesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the district’s administration building to gather feedback from community members about the 2020-2021 school year and also to discuss the use of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) federal funds.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Long held “Walk-In Wednesday” sessions quarterly, and now that people can safely meet in person again, he is looking forward to re-engaging stakeholders in this format.

Long says “Walk-In Wednesdays and some of the other community forum events we have held have always been eye-opening. Right now I am really interested in hearing from our people – our employees, parents, students, and community members – about how things went this school year and about the direction we are headed in the future. Schools across the country are utilizing ESSER funds differently, and I am really interested in finding creative ways to use these funds to address the gaps in learning created by the pandemic.”

Stakeholders are encouraged to come in at any time throughout the day to visit with Long. He also plans to host additional “Walk-In Wednesday” events throughout the coming school year.

The district’s administration building is located at 2465 Rodeo Drive. For more information about Walk-In Wednesday, call 425-1201.
