A Mountain Home woman entered a guilty plea to stealing her mother’s 2002 Mercedes Benz in early August last year, and was sentenced to five years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.
Thirty-six-year-old Rachel J. Doty was charged with theft of property.
Her mother reported the car missing Aug. 7, 2020. She told investigators she suspected her daughter had taken the vehicle.
On the same day the Mercedes Benz was entered into the National Crime Information Center database, the Illinois State Police reported the car had been recovered in Sangamon County, Ill. Doty was reported to have been driving the vehicle when it was pulled over. A male was accompanying her. He was arrested for possession of cocaine.
