The Mountain Home High School girls’ soccer team will have new leadership when the next season begins in the spring of 2022. Skyler King was selected by the Mountain Home School Board last month as the head coach of the Lady Bombers.
King says he is looking forward to his new opportunity, and he and his wife are happy to be returning to the Twin Lakes Area.
Listen:
King graduated from Flippin High School in 2013 and from the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout four years later. During his four-year tenure at Greene County Tech High School in Paragould, he led the Lady Eagles to the state tournament every year with the exception of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
King is succeeding Debbie Atkinson, who decided to step away after being on the sidelines for more than 10 years. She led Mountain Home to two state championships, a runner-up finish and seven final fours. King says he looks for the Lady Bombers to continue that trend under his leadership.
Listen:
King has not been able to meet with his players, but he looks forward to that moment after the Arkansas Activities Association’s dead period ends next Monday.
