
The Mountain Home Hurricanes easily won a meet they hosted Saturday at Cooper Park. Stone County, Jonesboro, Greene County and Pocahontas also competed.
Parker Kohler won the eight-and-under freestyle. His sister Callie won the 10-and-under girls’ 50-yard freestyle. Anthony Jones won the 11-12 race, Peeka Traver won the 13-14 girls’ 100-yard freestyle, and Caiden Kasper won the matching boys’ race. Olivia Wham won the 15-18 event.
Farrah Coleman won the girls’ 25-yard backstroke, and Levi Morris won the boys’ race. Annabelle Horn won 9-10 girls’ race, and her sister Ayla took the 100-yard backstroke for ages 13 and 14. Caleb Due won the boys division. Joia Traver won the senior girls’ group, and Aidan Wilson won the boys.
Slater Trogdon won the 25-yard breaststroke for boys, and Callie Kohler won her race by 15 seconds. Ryder Norwick took 9-10 boys, Daryn Sherry won the 11-12 girls, and David Bevel won on the boys’ side. Kendra McLean won the 13-14 100-yard breaststroke in her first opportunity. Kasper notched another win in the 13-14 boys’ division. Megan Yarborough won senior girls, and Noah Daugherty won the senior boys.
Coleman won the 25-yard butterfly, Annabelle Horn won 9-10 50-yard butterfly, and Ryder Norwick won the 9-10 boys. Sherry won 11-12 girls race, and Luke Hilvert took it for the boys. Peeka Traver easily won the 13-14 100-yard butterfly, and Due won the boys’ event. Joia Traver won for senior girls.
Maci Adkins was first in 100-yard freestyle for the nine- and 10-year-olds, and Anthony Jones won for 11-12 boys. McLean won the 13-14 girls’ 50-yard freestyle, and Ajay Reiss won on the boys’ side. Horn won the 9-10 individual medley, and Norwick matched her effort. Sherry won the 200-yard race, and Hilvert took the 11-12 boys race. Peeka Traver was first in her grouping, while Due won the boys. Joia Traver won the senior girls event.
The Hurricanes will head to Jonesboro next Saturday.
