Fulton County Hospital changes visitation policy due to COVID-19

The Fulton County Hospital has changed its visitation policy in response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases across the area.The Salem hospital is only allowing one visitor over the age of 14 per patient per day. Visiting hours are between 4-6 each evening, and no visitors will be allowed in the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Visitation exceptions may be made for patients under the age of 14, who cannot communicate for themselves, or critically ill or terminal patients. Such decisions will be made by the hospital staff on a case-by-case basis.

The hospital has also closed its cafeteria and gift shop to the public.

The hospital’s new visitation policies will remain in effect until further notice.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Twin Lakes Area has spiked in past month, with the number of active cases roughly doubling every 14 days.

According to data published by the Arkansas Department of Health, there are currently 24 active COVID-19 cases in Fulton County. Twenty-two percent of the county’s population aged 12 and older is fully immunized against COVID-19, with another 4% partially immunized.
