A Mountain Home man has been accused of stealing two generators from a neighbor while the victim was in the hospital.
William B. Hall has been charged with felony theft of property and residential burglary stemming from a June break-in at a residence at the Green Acres Trailer Park. The 30-year-old Hall also faces enhanced penalties for being a habitual offender.
A resident of the Green Acres Trailer Park reported that around June 21 while he was in the hospital, his residence was entered and two Honda generators, tools, sockets, a radio headset, assorted knives, an antique cigar box and keys to a trailer and two motorcycles were taken.
Also on June 21, a Harrison pawn shop contacted law enforcement officers and reported that two men were trying to sell a generator in a box. A pawn shop employee questioned the legal status of the generator, which bore the name and address of the victim. One of the men, later identified as co-defendant Lonnie L. Riddle, stated that he had just moved to the area and had the box shipped. The two men then left the pawnshop after more questions about the generator were raised.
A pawn shop employee provided officers with photos of the two men, who were identified as Hall and Riddle. The manager of the trailer park was shown the photos, identified the duo as Hall and Riddle, and stated they lived in a camper next to the victim.
Hall was booked into the Baxter County Detention Facility Monday and is being held on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on July 15.
