
A woman from Mountain View was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday afternoon while she was reportedly trying to remove a turtle from the highway. The Arkansas State Police have identified the victim as 65-year-old Yvonne Marie Duncan.
The report from the ASP says Duncan was struck by a vehicle when she walked into the westbound lane of State Highway 66 west of Mountain View.
Stone County Chief Deputy Damonn McGilton told whiterivernow.com Duncan was struck after she exited her vehicle to remove the turtle from the roadway.
The accident happened at 12:31 Wednesday afternoon.
