Republican United States Senate candidate Jake Bequette of Little Rock will speak at the Baxter County Republican County Committee Meeting Tuesday evening at 6 at Buncles Brick Oven & Brews in Mountain Home. The event is open to the public.

Bequette announced his challenge to incumbent John Boozman in next year’s Republican primary earlier this month. A former Arkansas Razorback All-SEC defensive end and Academic All-American, Bequette played in the NFL for the New England Patriots before serving in the United States Army as a Ranger.

The 32-year-old joined KTLO, Classic Hits & The Boot News Tuesday and discussed his life’s journey.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bequette established a non-profit dedicated to helping small businesses in Arkansas as they struggled to stay in afloat. The Arkansas Fund has raised over $100,000 since its inception and distributed grants to 35 small businesses in the state.
