Nathias Z. Hall
A man who gave police his brother’s name and date of birth when he was pulled over in mid-March appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.
Forty-year-old Nathias Z. Hall of Mountain Home entered a not guilty plea to charges stemming from the traffic stop.
Hall is an inmate at the Baxter County jail. His bond was lowered to $1,500 during Monday’s court session.
According to the probable cause affidavit, when Hall was asked for his driver’s license, he provided information on his brother.
The attempted deception fell apart when the officer checked and determined the license belonging to the brother had expired in 2006.In addition, the picture displayed on the policeman’s computer did not match that of Nathias Hall.
A drug dog was brought to the scene and alerted to Hall’s vehicle indicating the possible presence of illegal narcotics.
A search turned up a glass-smoking pipe that showed signs of having been used to ingest methamphetamine.
The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory verified the presence of the drug, according to the police report.
Hall was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing governmental operations by providing false information and traffic violations.
The ticket for the brother was cancelled.
Through the years, several women – including his mother have filed for orders of protection aimed at keeping Hall away from them and their property.
They were all eventually dismissed at the request of the victims.
Hall was accused in 2018 of swinging a knife at a Cotter police officer in an attempt to escape arrest.
A Gassville officer came to assist. Pepper spray and a stun gun had to be used to subdue Hall so he could be taken into custody.
Hall only received a 90-day jail sentence on the charges stemming from his fight with the policeman and was given 30 days credit for time already served.
