
The Mountain Home High School golf teams began another school year of athletics Monday by hosting the first day of the Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
While the Bomber boys are third in the team standings, they are being paced at the top of the leaderboard by Gaige Chaney. Chaney shot a 77 to finish three strokes ahead of second place Reggie Grant of Harrison. Also for Mountain Home, Ripken Finley is tied for sixth with an 83, Duncan Conly is 14th with a 94, Will Beckham is 18th with a 101, and Isaac House is 19th with a 107.
The Bombers’ team total is 355. Shiloh Christian is first in the team standings at 340, Harrison is second at three strokes back, and Greenwood is fourth at 372.
Mountain Home is also third on the girls’ side with a total of 294. Greenwood has the first day lead at 272, Harrison is second at eight strokes back, Shiloh Christian is fourth at 321, and Mount St. Mary’s is fifth at 374.
Individually for the Lady Bombers, Reagan Webb is in fourth place with a 92, Ella Brashears is fifth with a 93, MaryBeth Rogero is 10th with a 109, and Faith Hivert is 13th with a 118. Hallie Jones is at the top of the leaderboard with a 76.
The tournament will conclude Tuesday at Big Creek. Tee time is scheduled for 8 a.m.
