The 2021 Cougar Classic High School Golf Tournament, hosted by Izard County High School, got underway Tuesday at the Course on Turkey Mountain.
On the boys’ side, Pocahontas has the team lead with a 255. The host Cougars are second, 11 shots back. Salem is fifth with a 303.
The individual boys’ leaders are Max Gipson of West Side and Caleb Sullivan of Pocahontas who each shot an 81. Izard County’s Elijah Wilkes is third with an 86.
On the girls’ side, West Side leads the team standings with a 269. Salem is third with a 299.
The individual girls’ leaders are Tressie Carter of Highland and Kendra Harness of West Side who each shot an 83. Morgan Johnson and Katie Fish of Salem are tied for seventh place with a 99.
