The Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center has canceled or postponed two upcoming events due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
The Second Friday event scheduled for Aug. 13 has been canceled, the museum announced Wednesday night. The Second Friday events feature Main Street businesses staying open for extended hours on the second Friday of each month and include prizes, games, music and other activities.
Due to the continuing impact of the COVID pandemic, future Second Friday events will not be scheduled until next March, the museum said.
The museum has also postponed the scheduled dedication ceremony for the new Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center. Following a two-year construction project, the dedication was scheduled for Sept. 11. That ceremony is now postponed until a date to be announced in early 2022, the museum said.
