The Mountain Home School Board will consider establishing a new plan for the 2021-22 school year to provide leave to employees who contract COVID-19.
The board will conduct its regular August meeting this evening at 6:30 at the Mountain Home Public Schools Central Office on Rodeo Drive.
According to the meeting’s agenda, Federal and state COVID-19 leave relief plans expired on Dec. 31 and the previous plan established by Mountain Home Public Schools (MHPS) expired at the end of the 2021 spring semester. Currently, MHPS employees have no COVID-19 leave option available for use, outside of their accrued and unused sick leave.
The proposal for the 2021-2002 school year will provide up to 10 days of administrative leave for employees who test positive for COVID-19 or are identified as probable close contacts while performing their duties at work. The resolution notes those eligible for leave will be assigned duties to complete at home if they are able.
If state or federal government provides additional relief-leave options to employees, they will supersede the local policy.
The board will also hear a Ready for Learning update.
Other board action items on the agenda include: a budget summary and revue; approval of 2021-22 Federal Programs Assurances; a request to approve an academic support agreement; a request to approve curriculum adoption cycle; and a request to approve 2021-22 BVA Teacher Compensation.
Financial, enrollment and academic reports, along with a facilities update, will be presented. An executive session for personnel is also on the agenda.
