Man doesn’t want lawyer, pleads guilty, says sorry for what he did

A Mountain Home man waived his right to have a lawyer represent him and entered a guilty plea to stealing tranquilizers from a home where he was working during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Forty-three-year-old Kevin Ray Willis told Circuit Judge John Putman he did not want a lawyer and intended to plead guilty “because I did this, and I am very sorry about it.” Willis was allowed to waive his right to representation, entered his guilty plea and was put on probation for two years.

The victim reporting missing alprazolam tablets during a period in early February when a heat and air contractor was working in her home. Willis was then an employee of the contractor.

According to court records, Willis was not found immediately. He was arrested early last month.
