
MAUMELLE, Ark. (AP) – A man has died and a suspect is in custody following a shooting Saturday on Interstate 40 in central Arkansas, according to Arkansas State Police.
Kindylen Roberts, 21, of Marion died at a Little Rock hospital after being shot while riding in a vehicle on I-40 near Maumelle on the outskirts of Little Rock, according to a statement from state police.
Roberts was a passenger in an eastbound vehicle when someone in a second eastbound vehicle opened fire, the statement said.
A second person in the vehicle with Roberts was wounded in the shooting and was treated at the scene and released, police said.
A suspect was later arrested on capital murder and battery warrants in connection with the shooting and is being held in the Pulaski County jail in Little Rock, police said.
