The Baxter Regional Medical Center Magnet celebration scheduled for Sept. 3 at Hickory Park has now been postponed indefinitely.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce made the announcement Thursday evening on social media.
The event was originally planned to be held in early June as part of the Chamber’s Friday Night Live music series, but was postponed until September due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Twin Lakes Area.
In its social media post Thursday night, the Mountain Home Chamber writes, “While we are excited to bring this event to our area, we support the hospital’s decision to wait until we can focus our resources on creating a Magnet-worthy event.”
The Sept. 3 event was to feature the Kattie Laney Project and serve as a public celebration of Baxter Regional being awarded Magnet status, a distinction held by only 8.9% of hospitals nationwide and only 547 hospitals globally.
