The Melbourne boys and Salem girls picked up wins Tuesday in a four-team match at the Course on Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend.
Melbourne shot a one over par 109 to easily win on the boys’ side, 19 shots ahead of Izard County. Salem was third and Flippin finished fourth.
The Bearkatz were led by Caden Griffin with a four under par 32 for the nine holes. Teammates Roby Cooper shot a 38 and Bradie Gunther had a 38. Izard County was led by Denton Reiley with a 41. Salem’s top golfer was Hank Guiltner with a 42. Flippin’s top score was a 44 by Cody Downs.
On the girls’ side, Salem shot 150 to finish 11 shots ahead of Melbourne. Flippin was third.
Sophie Love of Melbourne was medalist with a 46. Salem was paced by Jaycie Strong with a 48. Flippin’s top golfer was Madelyn Lindsey with a 51.
