Mountain Home Public Schools is in the market to hire additional substitute staff when contracted staff cannot be present on campus. The district is interested in employing substitutes for teachers, paraprofessionals, food service workers, bus drivers, custodians, maintenance/groundskeepers, and bus aides.Superintendent Dr. Jake Long said the role of a substitute in any capacity is crucial to the daily operations of the district.
Long says, “We have a fantastic sub staff in our district, but COVID-19 has definitely opened up additional roles that need to be filled. We are looking for more substitutes in our classrooms, our cafeterias, on our grounds, and our transportation department. We are hoping that there are some caring, compassionate, patient community members out there who are willing to sign up to sub.”
Long said that substituting for the district provides qualified individuals with flexibility.
Long says, “You get to build your own schedule as a sub. We will reach out to you when jobs are available, but you only have to accept if youre interested in working that day.”
