Alex Jordan Jeschke
Details have been released on a shooting that took place on McClure Lane August 24, leaving the victim’s 23-year old nephew – Alex Jordan Jeschke – charged with first-degree attempted murder.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Mountain Home police responded to the address after a male caller reported, “I am at 1040 McClure and my uncle has been shot.”
The man terminated the call at that point.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim on the bathroom floor. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
No one else was found in the residence.
As medical personnel were treating the victim, he is reported to have said, “Alex did” before becoming unresponsive.
The victim was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center.
As officers were securing the scene, a female arrived and told them she lived at the residence, along with the victim and her son, Alex Jeschke.
Officers took the woman to BRMC where she is reported to have gotten a telephone call from her daughter.
The daughter said Jeschke, identified as her brother, had just come to her apartment and, after a brief conversation stated, “I shot uncle Bobby.”
Jeschke took the keys to his sister’s vehicle and left. He was arrested in Bakersfield without incident.
He was transported from Ozark County to the Baxter County jail and appeared in circuit court last week for a Rule 8.1 hearing.
Rule 8.1 of the Arkansas Rules of Criminal Procedure requires a person not released on bond or by some other legal means to appear before a judge as soon as possible.
During the 8.1 hearing, Jeschke appeared on a video hookup between the jail and courtroom.
Circuit Judge John Putman read the charge against Jeschke and explained his constitutional rights.
He is due for a formal arraignment on September 9. Jeschke’s bond has been set at $500,000.
