Monday basketball schedule includes MH freshman teams in Bentonville Classic

Basketball makes up much of the local Monday schedule and includes the freshman teams from Mountain Home and Harrison competing in the Bentonville Classic. The girls’ games will be played in Bentonville High School’s Tiger Basketball Arena, as the Junior Lady Goblins meet Fayetteville Purple at 5:45, and the Junior Lady Bombers face Bentonville West at 8:15. The first round of the boys’ bracket will be held in the east gym, as Harrison takes on Bentonville at 7, and Mountain Home plays Fayetteville Purple at 8:15.

Melbourne will play a doubleheader against Rose Bud in the Quitman Junior High Invitational Tournament. The girls’ game tips off at 4 followed by the boys’ contest.

Valley Springs’ junior girls will be at Siloam Springs to compete in the 34th-annual Panther Classic. The Junior Lady Tigers will be paired with Springdale Southwest at 4:30.

Elsewhere on the junior high level, Salem travels to Brockwell to meet Izard County, Mountain View makes the trip to Concord, and Bergman heads to Greenbrier.

On the high school level, Arvest Bank Tournament will resume in Flippin with Monday’s girls’ games in the new gym and the boys’ games in the old gym. On the boys’ side, Mountain Home Christian Academy and Valley Springs tip off at 5, Ozark Mountain meets Jasper at 6:15, and the host Bobcats face Kingston at 7:30. In the girls’ games, Yellville-Summit and Jasper get underway at 5, Ozark Mountain takes on Bergman at 6:15, and Flippin plays Alpena at 7:30.

Both of Norfork’s high school teams will be in Clinton for their openers in the First Service Bank Tournament. The Lady Panthers will be matched up with Conway Christian at 4:30, and the Norfork boys meet Greenbrier at 5:45.

In other high school basketball, Mammoth Spring will send three girls’ teams to Marmaduke.
