Baxter and surrounding counties in North Central Arkansas are currently under wildfire danger classifications, according to the Arkansas Forestry Department.
Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Searcy and Stone counties are under a moderate wildfire danger. Boone and Newton are among 12 counties in the northwest corner of the state under a high wildfire danger.
Anyone looking to conduct a controlled burn in a county under a wildfire danger needs to be mindful of wind speeds and low humidity. Arkansans can also check the status of wildfire dangers and burn bans throughout the state by going online to arkfireinfo.org.
