A man from Iowa was killed early Sunday morning when he turned his vehicle into the path of an 18-wheeler. Sixty-eight-year-old Dennis Gene Visser of Sioux Center died in the crash in Boone County, while two passengers in his vehicle were injured. Sixty-year-old Harvey Dean Mulder and 62-year-old Verlyn Jay Mulder were both taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Arkansas State Police report indicates Visser was traveling on U.S. Highway 65 and attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by the 18-wheeler, which was traveling behind his vehicle.
The crash happened at 5:27 Sunday morning near Rocky Top Lane in the Bear Creek Springs area north of Harrison.
