2nd half of year continues to be dry, yearly rainfall now behind average

Through the first six months of the year, Mountain Home received 31.18 inches of rain. But in the past five months combined, including a dry November, only 12.85 inches of rain have been recorded, and the area is behind on average rainfall. The average rainfall for Mountain Home through the end of November is 47.09 inches. At the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service, through November, we recorded 44.03 inches, meaning we are 3.06 inches below average for the year to date.

November was the third of the last five months in which less than 2 inches of rain fell in Mountain Home. We received 1.66 inches of rainfall for the month, over 3 inches below the monthly average of 4.80 inches. Rain was only recorded on seven days.

The highest temperature in November was 76 degrees on the 9th. The coldest was 23 degrees on the 26th.
