Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS continuing Cabot Christmas Classic

Basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School teams will continue the Cabot Christmas Classic. The Lady Bombers will meet Pulaski Academy to begin the evening, and the Mountain Home boys will play their last game in the event against Nettleton.

Both Mountain Home teams are 1-5 on the season. The Bombers and Lady Bombers began the classic on Thursday with a pair of losses to Cabot.

The boys’ game tips off at 5:30 at Panther Arena followed by the girls’ contest. Both games will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.

The Izard County Invitational Basketball Tournament will wrap up its semifinal round at Izard County High School in Brockwell. The junior girls’ game between Salem and Melbourne tips off at 4, Melbourne’s junior boys face Highland at 5:15, the Salem senior girls take on Highland at 6:30, and Calico Rock’s senior boys play Cave City at 7:45.

Gainesville’s girls will compete in the consolation semifinals of the Norwood Lady Pirate Invitational Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will be paired with the host school at 7:30.

Dora will play its last game in the Mansfield Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament. The Falcons will meet Plato for fifth place at 5.

In other high school basketball, Cotter hosts Decatur, Flippin travels to Centerton to face Life Way Christian, Yellville-Summit entertains Haas Hall-Bentonville, the Bakersfield boys make the trip to Theodosia to take on Lutie, Ozark Mountain heads to Mount Judea, Salem will send two boys’ teams to Imboden to play Sloan-Hendrix, Dora’s girls are home against Cabool, Mammoth Spring travels to Marked Tree, Marshall hosts Conway Christian, Timbo entertains Shirley for homecoming, Mountain View is home against Bald Knob, and Bergman hosts Alpena.
