The Alley-White American Legion Post 52 of Mountain Home is bringing a new twist to an old Christmas event.
This year, Post 52 is hosting a Christmas shopping event for veterans, Wednesday through Friday from 10 to 2. Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of this event for a chance to find gifts for their immediate family members.
Suzan Kaye, 1st vice president of Unit 52, says this event is morphing the national veterans Christmas shopping event into something more localized. Post 52 has been collecting items all year for this purpose.

This event is open to veterans in the community who are enrolled in the VA system, those in nursing homes, the disabled, or in low-income households.
Kaye says the event is completely free and hopes to have a good turn out.
