
The Arkansas Activities Association has announced its new conference alignments for high school football. Starting next year, Mountain Home will be among the area schools seeing significant changes.
The Bombers will remain in the 6A-West, the conference will expand from eight schools to nine. Mountain Home will be in the league with Greenbrier, Greenwood, Lake Hamilton, Little Rock Christian, Pulaski Academy, Russellville, Siloam Springs and Van Buren.
Bombers’ head coach Steve Ary says for anyone who likes a challenge, this is the conference to be in.

For Yellville-Summit, the new alignments include a move out of Class 2A. The Panthers will be in the 3A-2 along with two other area schools, Salem and Melbourne. Other league members include Atkins, Newport, Perryville and Quitman.
Yellville-Summit athletic director Steve Jones says the competition may get tougher, but he sees some positive things with the new conference.

Another area school will be moving up next year. Mountain View is leaving Class 3A and joining the 4A-2. The Yellowjackets will be in with Bald Knob, Cave City, Harding Academy, Heber Springs, Lonoke, Riverview and Stuttgart.
Harrison will remain in the 5A-West with some familiar faces and some new opponents. The Goblins will be joined by Alma, Dardanelle, Clarksville, Farmington, Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove and Shiloh Christian.
The new alignments will stay in place for the 2022 and 2023 football seasons.
