The Mountain Home Water/Wastewater Department has shut down additional parts of Hickory Street starting Wednesday. Hickory Street is closed to thru traffic from Fifth Street to Sixth Street and Sixth Street at Seventh Street. Hickory Street will be closed to thru traffic until the work is completed due to equipment that will need to remain in the road 24 hours per day. There will still be access off Hickory to get to Farmers & Merchants bank during this time.
The city says it expects the work will take two weeks to complete. Detour signage is displayed around this area, and they ask motorists to avoid this closed section of Hickory Street.
