Basketball makes up the local Thursday schedule, as two of Mountain Home’s boys’ teams will be on the junior high campus. The freshmen will meet West Memphis East at 5, and the high school junior varsity squad will follow against Mountain Home Christian Academy.
Elsewhere on the junior high level, Cotter travels to Marshall, Flippin hosts Bergman, and Valley Springs makes the short trip to Harrison.
Two area high school girls’ teams will compete in the semifinals of the Battle of the Border Tournament at Mammoth Spring. The host school will face Willow Springs at 4 in a battle between Lady Bears, and Viola takes on Thayer at 7.
In other high school basketball, Bakersfield entertains Couch, Izard County is home against Greers Ferry West Side, Dora’s boys host Eminence, Mountain View heads to Pangburn, and Omaha entertains Mount Judea.
Gainesville’s junior varsity boys will play for the championship of the Norwood JV Tournament. The JV Bulldogs will be paired with Thayer at 7:30.
