Firefighters from multiple departments are still battling a fire at a popular Mountain Home area restaurant. The fire at Fred’s Fish House on U.S. Highway 62/412 near Lake Norfork was first reported early Wednesday morning.
According to a spokesman at the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the department was notified by the alarm company of an alarm at the business at 4:25. A deputy arrived on scene at 4:37 and noticed heavy smoke coming from the building. The Northeast Lakeside Fire Department was paged out and was on the scene by 4:50.
A mutual aid page went out at 5:19 asking for assistance from other fire departments, including Mountain Home.
