The Gainesville High School girls’ basketball team had a rough start in the Sparta Lady Trojan Tournament on Wednesday. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Blue Eye 74-28.
Three area teams played in the George Kell Classic. Salem’s girls defeated Jonesboro Westside 69-48 at Tuckerman. At Swifton, the Melbourne girls routed Rivercrest 70-17, and Izard County’s boys lost to Tuckerman 49-35.
