Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS starting conference play

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule and includes the start of conference play for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will open 5A-West action by welcoming Siloam Springs to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are 3-10 on the season. The Lady Bombers’ last game was Dec. 30, when they fell to Springdale Har-Ber to finish fourth in the Ultimate Auto Group Basketball Tournament.
The Mountain Home boys have a record of 2-10. The Bombers also finished fourth in last week’s tournament with a loss to Paragould.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:45 at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Three area boys’ teams will compete on the consolation side of the Seymour Bank Winter Classic. Dora faces Bradleyville at 5:30, and Bakersfield takes on Lutie at 8:30.

Gainesville’s girls will continue action in the Sparta Lady Trojan Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs meet Greenwood at 5.

Three area teams will take part in the semifinals of the George Kell Classic. On the girls’ side, Melbourne plays Valley View at 5:30, and Salem will be paired with Marmaduke at 8:30. The Melbourne boys meet Rivercrest at 7.

Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy travels to Rogers to face Providence Academy, Cotter hosts Haas Hall-Bentonville, Flippin entertains Eureka Springs, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Centerton to take on Life Way Christian, Calico Rock is home against Rural Special, Western Grove hosts Omaha, Izard County entertains Concord, Dora’s girls are home against Thayer, Marshall heads to Hector, Timbo hosts Greers Ferry West Side, Mountain View entertains Clinton, Lead Hill is home against Deer, Bergman travels to Green Forest, Valley Springs makes the trip to Kingston, and Harrison heads to Farmington.
