Basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule and includes Mountain Home’s freshman teams on the road to face Paragould. The girls’ game tips off 5 followed by the boys’ contest.
Two area teams will compete in the semifinals of the Hillcrest Junior Tournament at Lynn. Salem’s girls meet Cedar Ridge at 5:30, and the Mammoth Spring boys take on Cedar Ridge at 6:45.
Elsewhere on the junior high level, Cotter hosts Izard County, Bergman entertains Green Forest, Valley Springs travels to Greenland, and Harrison is home against Huntsville.
Mountain Home’s seventh grade boys will have a pair of games at the Yellville-Summit Multi-Purpose Facility. The junior varsity team will play Yellville-Summit’s seventh graders at 5, and the varsity squad will follow against the Junior Panthers.
In high school basketball, Mountain Home Christian Academy makes the trip to Bakersfield, Flippin heads to Kingston, Viola hosts Hartville, the Gainesville girls travel to Dora, and Omaha entertains Shirley.
