
In high school basketball in the area Thursday night, Mountain Home Christian Academy (MHCA) won two of three games at Bakersfield.
The Eagles claimed the varsity boys’ game 61-49. Gabe Spray led the scoring with 21 points, Gideon Spray had 16, and Trenton Cox added 10.
MHCA won the junior varsity girls’ contest 37-33. Caroline Robinson had 13 points for the Lady Eagles, and Olivia Spray had 11.
Bakersfield won the junior boys’ game 59-52. For MHCA, Isaac Uhlmann led the way with 22 points, Lucas Harrelson scored 14, and Kolby Woods had 13.
Viola and Izard County split their senior high games.
Viola took the varsity girls’ contest 60-19. Kailey Hallmark and A,J. McCandlis each scored 15 for the Lady Longhorns, as they improve to 10-12 overall and 5-3 in league play. The Lady Cougars fall to 1-14.
In the senior boys’ game, Izard County topped the Longhorns 68-63 in overtime. Gunner Gleghorn paced the Cougars with 37 points, and Denton Reily added 11.
Izard County also won the junior girls’ game 47-24. For the Junior Lady Cougars, who improve to 15-2, Quinn Johnson pumped in 31 points. For Viola, Marissa Hutson scored 12 points, and Cheyenne Newberry had 11.
