A Mountain Home woman who has faced criminal charges in three counties over a span of years was sentenced to five years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Charges against 41-year-old Tracy Marie Strauser have included multiple counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, as well as forgery and residential burglary.

The two open Baxter County cases she pled guilty to Thursday were both drug-related.

She also has an open criminal case in Fulton County in which she is charged with possessing meth and residential burglary. A trial date of Jan. 26 is now set in that case, according to electronic court records.

It is anticipated the sentence she received in Baxter County will run concurrently with whatever sentence she receives in other cases.

TWO ARRESTS

On May 26, 2021, Strauser was arrested at a Mountain Home motel, along with several others.

Police responded to the motel to investigate reports of a man beating on the doors of several rooms.

When it was determined which room the man was supposed to be in, police followed him. He was reported to have gone into the room and then attempted to shut the door on the officers.

One officer put his foot in the door, so it could not be closed.

When the officers entered the room, three people went into the restroom, and a toilet could be heard flushing.

Officers ordered the people to exit the restroom, and they complied.

After police dealt with the others in the room, Strauser was taken to her residence in Mountain Home, where they conducted a probation compliance visit.

As a convicted felon, Strauser had a signed waiver on file that permitted warrantless searches of her person and property.

Strauser was eventually charged with possession of methamphetamine.

In the second case, a traffic stop in mid-May ended in Strauser being charged with possessing methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe and a quantity of prescription tranquilizer pills.
