MH sweeps 3 junior high basketball games at Batesville

Mountain Home had a successful road trip on Monday sweeping three junior high basketball games at Batesville.

The Junior Bombers invoked the mercy rule in the freshman boys’ game, as they routed the Junior Pioneers 57-20. Ryder McClain and Rhett Gilbert led Mountain Home with 14 points each, and Drew Haney and Drew McGehee added 12 each. The Junior Bombers improve to 11-6 on the season.

The freshman girls’ contest went down to the wire, with Mountain Home edging out Batesville 33-31. The Junior Lady Bombers were led by Sarah Williams and Whitten Coleman with 11 points each. Mountain Home is now 13-3 on the year and 4-1 in the Northeast Arkansas Conference.

The night began with Mountain Home’s eighth grade girls beating up on Batesville 40-3.

All three Mountain Home teams will be at Jonesboro on Thursday to take on Douglas MacArthur.
