
Motorists needing to be traveling Thursday morning will want to use extra caution, as there may be some roads with slick spots following Wednesday’s wintry mix.
A spokesperson at the Mountain Home Police Department says the main roads in the city are clear, but some of the side streets may be slick. Another spokesperson at the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office says there are roads throughout the county with patchy ice. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says U.S. Highway 62/412 is clear, but they are unaware of the conditions of the other roads in the county.
According to IDriveArkansas.com, the major highways in Baxter and Marion counties are clear. Highway 62/412 has ice patches throughout Fulton County, and Arkansas Highway 9 has ice patches from Salem to Melbourne. U.S. Highway 65 has ice patches from St. Joe to the Searcy/Van Buren county line and from Bear Creek Springs to the state line. Arkansas Highway 7 has ice patches from Lead Hill to Marble Falls and from Jasper to the Newton/Pope county line.
A spokesperson at the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office says they are not aware of any major issues on the roads. The Missouri Department of Transportation’s traveler information map shows Missouri Highway 5 is covered in winter precipitation throughout Ozark and Douglas counties. U.S. Highway 160 is covered from Gainesville and continuing east throughout Howell County. Missouri Highway 17 is covered from West Plains to the state line. U.S. Highway 63 is covered throughout Howell County. Missouri Route K is covered from West Plains and continuing west to its junction with County Road 6470, and Missouri Route CC is covered from West Plains and continuing west to its junction with Missouri Route AD.
At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for Mountain Home, a 1/10 of an inch of snow was recorded.
