The driver of a pickup truck reported stolen has been arrested after a call to 911 reporting her passenger was having issues breathing and chest pains.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the driver, 52-year-old Sandy Gale Baker of Cherokee Village, has been charged with felony theft by receiving, along with misdemeanors of driving on a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and operating a vehicle with expired tags.

Baker’s arrest follows a Marion County deputy responding to the Yellville city park Jan. 4 where the woman and her male passenger were located in a green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. A check with the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) database indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Sharp County.

The male passenger exited the vehicle when emergency medical services personnel arrived to assess him. However, he refused to be transported.

Baker was asked to exit the vehicle and a check of the ACIC indicated a return with warrants for her and that her driver’s license was suspended. She was also unable to show proof of vehicle insurance.

Bond for Baker was set at $5,000.
