Friday basketball results include Norfork girls losing 2nd game of Nixa tourney

The Norfork High School girls’ basketball team suffered another loss in the Nixa Girls Invitational Tournament on Friday. The Panthers fell to Republic 64-47.

Flippin’s boys were able to get a conference win on their home floor. The Bobcats pounded Life Way Christian 65-39.

The Izard County boys had a rough start to their long road trip. The Cougars went to Dierks and lost to Magnet Cove 43-33.

Melbourne’s girls were just able to hang on to their undefeated record. The Lady Bearkatz edged out Tuckerman 45-43.

Marshall had mixed results at Conway Christian. The Bobcats put the mercy rule in effect in the boys’ game with an 82-45 decision. Marshall’s girls were not as fortunate, as they fell to Conway Christian 54-24.

Lead Hill came away with a split at Kingston. The Tigers took the boys’ game over the Yellowjackets 62-54. The girls’ contest had a different result, as Lead Hill lost to Kingston 57-17.

Bergman also had mixed results in their trip to Elkins. The Lady Panthers are still unbeaten with a 66-19 thrashing of the Lady Elks. Bergman was not as fortunate on the boys’ side with an 84-70 loss to Elkins.
