A Missouri man wanted on a second-degree murder charge in connection with a fatal shooting last weekend in St. Louis County was found and arrested Wednesday in the Twin Lakes Area. Twenty-two-year-old Tony Hager of Imperial is in the Ozark County Jail, and he also faces a charge of armed criminal action.

According to St. Louis television station KSDK, St. Louis County police responded Jan. 16 to the 600 block of Greenhurst Court in Fenton for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Austin Vines and a dog suffering from gunshot wounds. Vines was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and pronounced dead on Monday. The dog also succumbed to its injuries.

Investigators said the shooting was a result of an altercation between people who knew each other. Hager and other individuals reportedly went to the residence on Greenhurst Court to confront Vines about an “ongoing disagreement.” Police said two witnesses not involved in the disagreement identified Hager as the shooter. Authorities did not indicated if Hager also shot the dog.

Hager’s bond is set at $250,000.
