Monday basketball results include MH getting 1 win in 4 junior high games

Mountain Home came away with one win in four junior high basketball games against Greene County Tech at Paragould Monday.
The Junior Lady Bombers lost to the Junior Lady Eagles 34-23 in the freshman girls’ game. Mountain Home falls to 14-4 on the season.
Mountain Home did not fare any better in the freshman boys’ contest, as they fell to Tech 42-36. The Junior Bombers drop to 11-8 on the year.
Mountain Home’s lone win was in the junior varsity girls’ game, as they squeaked by Tech 32-30. The Junior J.V. Lady Bombers’ record improves to 8-3.
The Mountain Home eighth grade boys fell to Tech by a final of 40-20. The Eighth Grade Bombers are now 2-7 on the season.
Mountain Home’s freshman teams and eighth grade boys will host Annie Camp from Jonesboro on Thursday.

Izard County’s junior high teams were able to pick up a sweep over Mammoth Spring.
The Junior Cougars took the boys’ game over the Junior Bears 55-27. Xander McCandlis led Izard County with 16 points, Garrett Dillard scored 14, and Kasen Black added 12.
Izard County also won the girls’ contest over Mammoth Spring 36-26. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Quinn Johnson with 26 points. Izard County is now 18-2 on the year.

Cotter was able to win a pair of boys’ games over the Arkansas Arts Academy.
The Warriors invoked the mercy rule in the senior high game by pounding the Diamonds 70-28. Hayden Hutson was Cotter’s top scorer with 18 points, Hudson Adams had 13, and Jeffry Haynes chipped in 11.
Cotter also breezed past the Arkansas Arts Academy 48-7 in the junior high contest.

The Norfork boys picked up a conference win in front of the home crowd. The Panthers defeated Timbo 64-50.

Another victory was notched by Flippin’s girls. The Lady Bobcats topped Alpena by a score of 57-44.

Dora’s girls won their opener in the Lady Lion Invitational Tournament at Mansfield. The Lady Falcons got past Forsyth 60-56.

Valley Springs had mixed, as they took on another group of Tigers at Green Forest. Valley Springs’ girls put the mercy rule in effect, as they routed Green Forest 78-36. The boys’ game had a different result, with Valley Springs getting edged out by Green Forest 59-56.
