
It was a busy Tuesday night for high school basketball in the area.
In girls’ action:
-Yellville-Summit was a 61-37 winner over Alpena. The Lady Panthers up their record to 15-3.
-Viola went to Calico Rock and picked up a 58-27 victory to improve to 14-12 overall and 8-3 in conference play. A.J. McCandlis led the Lady Longhorns with 29 points, and Kailey Hallmark added 11. The Lady Pirates fall to 6-14.
-Salem lost at home to Tuckerman 39-29. Chelsea Hamilton paced the Lady Greyhounds with 13 points, as they fall to 11-5 on the season.
-Melbourne is now 20-0 after downing White County Central 61-17.
-Ozark Mountain lost to Kingston 62-47. The Lady Bears are now 13-10.
-Mammoth Spring got past rival Thayer 52-42 to push its record to 19-6. Laney Young paced the Lady Bears with 13 points.
-Valley Springs blasted Lincoln 80-35 to improve to 17-8.
-Jasper was a 42-25 winner over Lead Hill.
-Harrison edged past Huntsville 45-41.
In boys’ games:
-Cotter lost at home to Eureka Springs 45-38. The Warriors drop to 15-11 on the year.
-Yellville-Summit lost to Alpena 66-50. The Panthers are now 1-14 on the season. Yellville-Summit won the junior boys’ game 52-35.
-Calico Rock picked up a 55-39 win over Viola. The Pirates are now 19-7, while the Longhorns fall to 12-14.
-Gainesville topped Sparta 41-33 at the Sparta Tournament.
-Bakersfield lost to Thayer 74-33.
-Melbourne was a 65-50 winner over White County Central. The Bearkatz are now 13-7 on the season.
-Mammoth Spring was a 68-61 winner over Crowley’s Ridge Academy. Gavin Boddie led three Bears in double figures with 20 points, Nathaneal Rogers scored 15, and Blake Rogers had 14, as the Bears improve to 13-12 on the season.
-Ozark Mountain lost to Kingston 64-59 and is now 14-11 on the campaign.
-Valley Springs was an 80-67 victor over Lincoln to improve to 16-11.
-Marshall got past Lisa Academy 74-68 to push its record to 14-6.
-Jasper held off Lead Hill 69-61.
