High school basketball makes up the local Monday schedule, as district tournaments continue in Arkansas.
Flippin is the site of the 2A-1 District Tournament. On the girls’ side, Alpena and Haas Hall-Bentonville tip off at 4, and Life Way Christian faces Decatur at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Yellville-Summit takes on Life Way Christian at 5:30, and the Arkansas Arts Academy plays Decatur at 8:30.
The 1A-2 District Tournament gets underway at Shirley. In the girls’ games, Viola and Shirley get started at 4, and Calico Rock will be paired with Izard County at 6:30. In boys’ action, Timbo faces Shirley at 5:15, and Rural Special takes on Concord at 7:45.
Elsewhere, Bakersfield’s boys host Van Buren, the Gainesville girls entertain Norwood, and Mammoth Spring plays Jasper in Flippin’s old gym.
