High school basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule, as district tournaments continue.
The 2A-1 District Tournament will hold its semifinals at Flippin. On the girls’ side, the host and top-seeded Lady Bobcats face Life Way Christian at 4, Cotter takes on Yellville-Summit at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Alpena plays top-seeded Eureka Springs at 5:30, and Cotter will be paired with Flippin at 8:30.
The semifinals of the 2A-2 District Tournament will be played at Salem. In the girls’ games, top-seeded Melbourne and Cedar Ridge tip off at 4, and the host Lady Greyhounds face Tuckerman at 7. In boys’ action, Salem takes on top-seeded Sloan-Hendrix at 5:30, and Melbourne plays Tuckerman at 8:30.
Both of Mammoth Spring’s teams will be at Hillcrest Elementary School in Lynn for the semifinals of the 1A-3 District Tournament. The top-seeded Lady Bears get started at 4 against Marked Tree, and the Mammoth Spring boys will be matched up with Ridgefield Christian at 7:45.
Marshall’s boys will be in Quitman for their semifinal game in the 2A-5 District Tournament. The Bobcats face Maumelle Charter at 8:15.
Two area boys’ teams will square off in the semifinals of the 3A-1 District Tournament at Elkins. Bergman takes on Valley Springs at 7:15.
Elsewhere, Gainesville’s girls travel to Conway. Bakersfield’s games with Koshkonong have been canceled.
