Mountain Home School Board approves pay raises for employees

Mountain Home School District employees will be seeing bigger paychecks next school year following action by the school board. The board, at its regular February meeting Thursday night, approved a proposal to increase the pay by 3%.

Superintendent Jake Long says it’s the largest pay increase in a number of years.

The board also approved other pay increases in addition to the salary schedule increases.

The Mountain Home School Board approved several expenditures, including just over $95,700 for a new HVAC unit at Pinkston Middle School and just over $98,000 for 56 new computers for the high school.

The board also learned the district has saved just over $100,000 in the past year after signing up for solar energy purchases from Entergy.

There were a number of personnel items approved by the board as well.
