A Mountain Home attorney with 28 years of courtroom experience is seeking a new role. Jodi Carney has announced she will run for the position of district judge in Baxter and Marion counties, creating another race in the May primary.
Carney has previously served as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Baxter County’s district and juvenile courts. If elected, she would oversee cases of misdemeanor criminal offenses (traffic tickets, DWIs, etc.), small claims and civil disputes under $25,000.
Carney has been a Mountain Home resident since 1994 and remains involved at Carney Law Firm. She and her late husband have a son attending the Mountain Home School District.
Carney will face Robert “Bob” Lowery of Mountain Home to fill the position that became open following former Judge Jason Duffy’s resignation in October. The election will be held May 24.
