The Mountain Home High School football team is looking for a new offensive coordinator after Ryan Mallett was hired Wednesday to become the new head coach at White Hall High School near Pine Bluff. Mallett, a former University of Arkansas quarterback who played for the New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens in the NFL, has been an assistant coach for the Bombers the last two seasons, spending the 2021 season as offensive coordinator.
Mallett helped the Bombers to a record of 11-14 and two trips to the playoffs in his two seasons with the team.
He takes over a White Hall team that went 11-3 last year and finished as state runners-up with a loss to Pulaski Academy in the state title game. He replaces Bobby Bolding who resigned after last season but remains at the school as athletic director.
